CGWS 2026 Athletics Banquet
Carter G. Woodson School proudly hosted its 2026 Athletic Banquet, bringing together student athletes, families, coaches, and supporters for an evening dedicated to celebrating the hard work, discipline, and achievements of our athletic programs.
Athletes representing boys soccer, boys and girls basketball, girls volleyball, flag football, cheerleading, and dance were recognized for their commitment throughout the season both on and off the field.
Throughout the evening, student athletes were honored with team awards including:
Most Valuable Player (MVP)
Most Improved Player
Offensive & Defensive Player Awards
Scholar Athlete Award
In addition, two students received special school-wide — Woodson Warrior Award, Leadership Award, Perseverance Award, and Ironman/Multi-Sport Athlete Award.
A special highlight of the evening was an inspiring keynote message from our guest speaker—Reyshawn Terry, a former NBA player, who encouraged students to remain disciplined, focused, and committed to excellence in athletics, academics, and life.
This celebration was a reminder that athletics at CGWS is about more than competition—it is about building character, leadership, teamwork, and resilience.
Thank you to our Athletic Director, coaches, staff, families, and supporters who made this event possible and continue to pour into our student athletes each season.

There is always a new section waiting to challenge your current rhythm. That design makes Slope feel active from the opening moments, with each turn requiring a slightly different response. Wide stretches provide space for preparation, while sudden bends demand quick and accurate control. Players can gradually improve by noticing which decisions caused earlier mistakes. The straightforward gameplay becomes more rewarding as confidence increases.
The clues from connections hint today can make players think outside the most obvious meaning of a word. This encourages them to explore associations, compare ideas, and consider relationships from different angles.
The challenge can be made more difficult by missing notes, while accurate timing helps sustain the rhythm and push the performance fnf toward victory. As the speed of songs increases and patterns become more intricate, players must maintain a high level of concentration and react quickly in order to keep up with the rhythm.
What I like about ragdoll archers is that the fights don't feel completely predictable. A shot that looks perfect can still turn out differently, which makes each attempt a little more interesting.
There are many strategies that can help players perform better. One common principle is to keep the board as open as possible. Players should avoid creating narrow spaces that can only accommodate very specific pieces. Maintaining Block Blast flexibility gives them more options when new blocks appear. Another useful strategy is to think about the shapes of possible future pieces. Although players cannot always know exactly what will appear next, they can avoid making the board so crowded that only one particular shape would be useful. A good player therefore tries to maintain several possibilities rather than depending on a single perfect move.
