Celebrating CGW’s Legacy and Recognition

What an incredible weekend! Carter G. Woodson School was recognized as one of the original charter schools in North Carolina. It was truly special to stand in the vision of our founder, Hazel Mack, and my predecessor, Ruth Hopkins, alongside so many who continue to pour into CGW.

I was grateful to be escorted by my husband and to stand beside our Board members and staff, proudly representing the strength and spirit of CGW. And I may be a little biased, but CGW truly showed up and showed out!

Let’s continue to honor and build upon this legacy each and every day.
