At Carter G. Woodson School, enrollment is the first step in joining a community that truly cares about student success. As the Recruitment and Retention Specialist, I have the joy of welcoming families, answering questions, and making sure every scholar feels excited about starting their journey with us.
Enrolling early is one of the best ways for families to secure their child’s place and take full advantage of our onboarding process. Early enrollment gives families the chance to learn about our academic programs, meet staff, and attend events that help scholars feel comfortable and confident before their first day. With 530 students currently enrolled and space limited, acting early ensures your scholar can be part of our thriving community.
Our K to 12 charter school prides itself on being close-knit and family-oriented. We guide every family through a personal, supportive application process so that enrollment is easy and stress-free. From start to finish, our goal is to make families feel welcomed and informed, helping them transition smoothly into school life.
Beyond enrollment, I create programs that engage and inspire our scholars. These experiences are designed to keep students motivated, connected, and excited about learning. At CGWS, we know that retention is just as important as recruitment, and we work hard to make every student and family feel valued from day one.
Joining Carter G. Woodson School is more than just enrolling in a school. It is about becoming part of a village that celebrates each child, supports every family, and invests in a bright future. We look forward to welcoming new families, sharing our programs, and growing our community together.
