Immunizations Requirements
At Carter G. Woodson, we value the safety and health of our students. That's why we require specific immunizations for entry for Kindergarten, 7th and 12th graders. By following North Carolina's Back to School immunization chart, allows us to provide a safe environment where every student is protected from diseases and illnesses that can affect both their learning and wellbeing.
Visual Arts
We recognize that children have so many different talents and are burgeoning artists. We incorporate the visual arts as a pedagogical approach in teaching and learning. Our teachers infuse visual arts across their curriculum.

Music
We know the beauty of the performing arts and how it can inspire and create better students. As a school, we have a marching band, a jazz band, and a pep band. Our band director, Michael Hinson, is a classically trained jazz musician.
